"But my cat HATES water! Why would you bath him?!"

If not introduced to bathing and grooming at a young age, they can be a fearful of the new experience.  With time and gentle handling, they can come to accept and even enjoy that which is unfamiliar to them.  If your cat shows signs of stress, fear, and will not relax, we will stop immediately.  One way to calm the most aggressive cat is to put him in the tub and gentle soak his feet and belly. Oddly enough, this can take them out of fight mode.  Sometimes cats do have a 10-20 second mini freak out when we first turn on the water and apply it to them.  We let them work through this fear, realize they are not in danger, and MOST cats calm and relax under the warm water and the massage while soaping.

A dry bath, wiping them with a wet towel or putting powder in their hair and brushing it out. This would be unacceptable for dogs or humans, so why do cats get shortchanged? Real water baths with soap are the ONLY way to de-grease and clean a cat, just like a dog or human.

Experience and knowledge is everything, there is an art to calmly and safely bathing a cat.

Wet bathing removes grease, oil, litter, feces, fleas, dandruff, and dirt.

Dry bathing or just shaving the coat off can't do any of these things.

We successfully groom the cats others refuse, or those that have been sedated previously at the vet.
We don't judge. When a cat comes with one mat or head to tail pelting. We don't give you a lecture or tell you what a bad owner you are. We simply shave them off.  I want you to know that I regularly shave cats.  I know that you feel bad and sometimes embarrassed for the coat getting this way.

It occurs for various reasons, the cat can't cope with its massive thick coat, it doesn't allow you to groom it. Contacting me and booking an appointment is the first step to sorting out the problem. We can then discuss a plan so it never happens again.

We will attempt to groom any cat. While having the skill to groom difficult or aggressive cats, we also draw a line when it comes to physically or emotionally harming a cat during grooming.  We simply will not groom a cat in a style that will possibly harm them. We never restrain them except with our hands (cats should never be put in a grooming "noose"), and all equipment and tools are fully disinfected between each cat.

We want to please our customers, but humanity comes before vanity. Your cat will be with the same groomer through the whole process in a small quiet friendly groom room.
